Porter Airlines began nonstop flights between Edmonton and Puerto Vallarta on November 3, opening its first international route from Alberta. The Mexico service is the first of four seasonal routes the Canadian airline is introducing from Edmonton this month.
Under the airline’s published launch schedule, Puerto Vallarta has a peak frequency of three flights a week. Phoenix services are scheduled to begin on November 6, followed by Los Cabos and Las Vegas on November 16.
The announced peak schedule provides up to daily Phoenix flights and four weekly flights each to Los Cabos and Las Vegas. Those are peak frequencies, so passengers should check the operating days for their actual travel dates rather than assume every route runs daily throughout winter.
Porter says all four routes will use 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft with two-by-two seating. The expansion adds direct leisure-travel options from Edmonton to Mexico and the United States. Puerto Vallarta is already operating, while the other three launches remain upcoming as of November 4.
