A ₹15 lakh trekking-trail project at Synrang Mawrin in Mawten, Meghalaya, was inaugurated on November 2, adding visitor-access infrastructure at an established attraction in South West Khasi Hills.
According to the state’s Information and Public Relations Department, the work was funded through the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund for 2024–25. Mawkyrwat MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar inaugurated the trail alongside a separate ₹10 lakh fencing project at the Mawten Presbyterian Church campus.
The state release, issued on November 3, says the trail is intended to improve access to the surrounding scenery. Local Khasi daily Mawphor also reported the ceremony and the two allocations, while describing Synrang Mawrin as a place that had opened to visitors in earlier years.
The announcement therefore concerns additional infrastructure, rather than the attraction’s first opening. Neither the state notice nor the ceremony report establishes a new ticket price or visiting timetable. Travellers planning to use the route should confirm current access arrangements locally before setting out.
