Nepal Tourism Board has announced a Kukur Tihar reel competition with a prize of NPR 100,000 and a November 21 submission deadline. The November 3 invitation asks creators to capture the festival’s celebration of dogs and their companionship with people.
The official competition notice requires original videos in English, or with English subtitles or narration. Entrants must publish their reels on Instagram or Facebook, use #NepalFestival and #KukurTihar, and tag the relevant Nepal Tourism Board account.
Participants must also email the video and an accessible Google Drive link to photonepal@ntb.org.np, with viewing and downloading permissions enabled. Publishing a social-media post alone therefore does not complete the stated submission process.
The Rising Nepal’s report describes Kukur Tihar as a tradition in which dogs receive tika, flower garlands and special food. Creators should also read the competition’s reuse condition: the tourism board reserves the right to use all submitted reels for promotion, publicity, marketing and digital communication.
