Vodafone Idea announced Vi Intelligence on November 4, an initiative intended to bring artificial intelligence into its operations, customer services and enterprise offerings. A central part is the Vi Intelligence Lab, being developed with PwC India to incubate and expand enterprise AI applications.

According to ETTelecom’s report of the announcement, PwC India will establish a dedicated centre-of-excellence team alongside Vi’s team in Mumbai. The proposed work includes improving customer engagement and service experiences, connecting business processes and developing agentic and assistive AI applications.

The programme also includes workforce training and an emphasis on responsible and sovereign AI. FoneArena separately reported the initiative and the PwC collaboration.

The announcement describes a development programme rather than a completed rollout across enterprise customers. The reports did not disclose financial terms or quantified results from deployed systems. Its immediate significance is the creation of a joint structure through which the telecom operator and consultancy plan to test and develop business uses for AI.
