Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore has announced two one-day training sessions this week: mushroom cultivation on November 5 and beekeeping on November 6.

The mushroom-cultivation notice, dated November 2, places the Thursday session at the Department of Plant Pathology, from 10 am to 5 pm. Participants can register at the department. The fee is ₹850 per person, or ₹590 for college students who bring identification. Attendees will receive a certificate.

The beekeeping session is scheduled at the Department of Agricultural Entomology on Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. Candidates should arrive at 9 am with identification and pay ₹590 on the day.

Its practical topics include recognising bee species, rearing Indian bees in boxes, seasonal management, bee forage, honey extraction and managing pests and diseases affecting bees.

These are forthcoming monthly training sessions, not completed events. The university lists 0422-6611336 for mushroom-training enquiries and 0422-6611214 for beekeeping. Prospective participants can confirm arrangements with the relevant department before travelling.
