Exporters, manufacturers and small businesses met in Hyderabad on November 2 for a workshop on using India’s free trade agreements. More than 300 representatives participated, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s account, with industry representation from 31 locations.
The Department of Commerce, the regional foreign-trade office and Telangana’s Industries and Commerce Department organised the programme. Telangana Today reported that it took place at T-Hub.
The sessions examined preferential tariffs, rules of origin, quality standards and other requirements for entering overseas markets. Five breakout groups covered agriculture, gems and jewellery, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, engineering and electronics, and textiles. Participants also considered opportunities tied to particular products and destination countries.
A demonstration introduced the Trade Connect ePlatform’s trade information and market-intelligence tools. Separate discussions covered turmeric products, food processing and district-level export planning. The programme provided guidance on using existing trade arrangements; the official account did not announce a new trade agreement or report export orders secured at the workshop.
