Tamil Nadu launched a single-window application portal for renewable-energy projects on November 3, moving a process previously handled through physical submissions and office visits online.
The platform covers solar, wind, hybrid wind-solar and battery-storage projects. Developers can register, upload documents, pay fees and follow their applications through scrutiny and grid-connectivity approval, according to reports by The New Indian Express and DT Next.
Applicants can also respond to deficiencies, receive email updates and download approval orders. Officials will be able to monitor applications and field inspections through the same system.
The Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation lists the Renewable Energy Application service on its official website. The portal was launched at the electricity board headquarters in Chennai alongside the public presentation of the state’s battery-storage policy.
The new development is the online application service. Submitting an application does not itself grant permission to build a project or connect it to the grid.
