Bookings for two Diwali special trains linking Tambaram with southern Tamil Nadu opened at 8 am on November 3, according to Southern Railway’s published timetable. The services connect Tambaram with Tenkasi and Sengottai during the festival period.

Train 06049 is scheduled to leave Tambaram at 5 am on Saturday, November 7, reaching Tenkasi at 4.45 pm the same day. Train 06050 will depart Sengottai at 3 pm on Monday, November 9, and arrive at Tambaram at 3.20 am on Tuesday, November 10, OneIndia Tamil reported.

The railway’s timetable lists stops including Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi and Rajapalayam. The northbound service also calls at Tenkasi after leaving Sengottai.

Passengers should distinguish the two southern endpoints when choosing a journey: the outward service terminates at Tenkasi, while the return begins at Sengottai. Current fares, accommodation and seat availability should be checked in the booking system.
