Ben Shelton reached the last 16 of the Rolex Paris Masters on November 3 with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Cameron Norrie. The third seed needed one hour and 11 minutes to complete the second-round match, securing his progress in straight sets.

Shelton established an early advantage at 3-1 in the opening set. Norrie offered more resistance in the second, recovering to 4-4, but the American broke again and closed out the match, according to the official tournament report.

The serving statistics underline Shelton’s control. He won 28 of 32 points behind his first delivery and struck six aces without a double fault. Tennis’s completed scorecard recorded three breaks of serve from six opportunities for Shelton, while Norrie converted one of his two chances.

Shelton will next face either Arthur Rinderknech or qualifier Mattia Bellucci, Tennis Now reported. Tuesday’s result made him one of the first players through to the last 16, alongside Casper Ruud.
