Oksana Selekhmeteva advanced to the Chennai Open’s second round on Tuesday, November 3, beating Serbia’s Teodora Kostovic 6–4, 6–3 in the WTA 250 event.

The Spanish player, ranked No. 122, converted four of her 15 break-point opportunities. Tennis.com’s completed match record shows she held serve in eight of nine service games, while Kostovic, ranked 141st, converted her only break chance.

Selekhmeteva hit two aces and made two double faults; Kostovic recorded three aces and four double faults. The result extended Selekhmeteva’s head-to-head advantage to 2–0, the WTA confirmed.

Their previous meeting had gone to three sets on clay at the 2025 WTA 125 event in Rende, Italy. Selekhmeteva won that match 6–7, 6–2, 6–4 before securing this straight-set victory on a different surface.

The Chennai tournament runs through November 8 at SDAT Tennis Stadium, with 32 players in the singles draw and matches played on outdoor hard courts.
