Antonia Ruzic advanced to the second round of the Hong Kong Tennis Open on November 4 with a 7–6(5), 6–4 victory over Alina Charaeva.
The Croatian saved two set points before taking the opening set, according to the WTA’s match summary. She won the tiebreak seven points to five and then closed out the match without needing a deciding set.
The result gave Ruzic a second win in two meetings with Charaeva, who had arrived after winning the previous week’s WTA 125 tournament in Courmayeur.
Tennis.com’s completed scorecard confirms the straight-sets result on Court 1. The victory keeps Ruzic in the draw at the WTA 250 event, which is being played on outdoor hard courts and runs through November 8.
