Casper Ruud reached the last 16 of the Rolex Paris Masters by defeating ninth seed Rafael Jodar 6-3, 6-4 on November 3. The Norwegian won their second-round meeting on Court Central to continue his run at the indoor tournament.

The official tournament report said Ruud closed the opening set with a love service game and finished the second with an ace. His straight-sets victory followed an opening-round win over Juan Manuel Cerundolo.

Tennis.com’s completed match statistics show how efficiently Ruud used his opportunities. He converted three of four break points, while Jodar converted one of three. Ruud held serve in nine of his ten service games and struck seven aces, compared with three for the Spaniard.

Ruud also won nine of the ten points played behind his second serve. Jodar had won their previous meeting in the Shanghai quarterfinals last month, making Tuesday’s result a reversal of that three-set encounter. This time, Ruud advanced without needing a deciding set.
