Casper Ruud advanced to the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Argentine qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo on November 2.

The Norwegian completed the match in one hour, taking an early lead in each set and keeping control on serve. The tournament’s official report said he broke in the opening game and later built a 4-0 advantage in the second set.

Ruud did not face a break point. Tennis.com’s completed match record shows he held all nine service games, hit six aces and made no double faults. He converted three of five break-point opportunities and won 83 per cent of points behind his first serve.

La Nación independently confirmed the score and duration. The result ended Cerundolo’s run after qualifying, while Ruud moved through on the opening day of main-draw action in Paris.
