ABD Maestro announced two additions to its Rangeela vodka range on November 3, using flavours associated with Indian street refreshments. The variants, Jhatpat Jamun and Kala Khatta, extend the brand’s existing portfolio and are initially available in Maharashtra, according to the company’s announcement.
The company describes Jhatpat Jamun as combining jamun with mint and a hint of chilli. Kala Khatta draws on lemon and tamarind flavours. These descriptions are the manufacturer’s product claims, rather than an independent tasting assessment.
The Maharashtra prices announced are ₹2,500 for a 750 ml bottle and ₹625 for a 180 ml bottle. Expansion into Goa, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh is planned, although the announcement does not give launch dates for those markets.
Rangeela is part of ABD Maestro, the premium spirits subsidiary of Allied Blenders and Distillers. Actor Ranveer Singh is the venture’s co-founder and creative partner. The latest announcement concerns two new variants, not the creation of the company or the original launch of the Rangeela brand.
