P. V. Sindhu has secured a place at the 2026 BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, with her qualification reported on November 4. The season-ending badminton tournament is scheduled for December 9 to 13.
The Indian will return to the event for the first time since 2021, when she finished runner-up. She won the title in 2018 by defeating Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara and remains India’s only women’s singles champion at the tournament.
Sindhu’s qualification follows a productive European run: a French Open final appearance and victory at the Hylo Open in Germany. She also won the Japan Open in July, giving her two World Tour titles this season.
The Times of India reported that the Badminton World Federation confirmed her berth on Wednesday. South Korea’s An Se-young, Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi and China’s Wang Zhi Yi and Chen Yu Fei have also qualified, setting up a strong women’s singles field for the December event.
