Pune Metro’s new Line 3, known as the Pink Line, is scheduled to be inaugurated on 3 November 2026, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The event is planned for 12:30 pm by video conference; the announcement also includes foundation stones for further metro corridors.
The government says the approximately 23-kilometre Pink Line connects Maan with District Court and will link the Hinjewadi IT hub with Shivajinagar. It puts the line’s cost at more than ₹8,300 crore. The project is intended to integrate with the existing metro network.
The official announcement says the train operators on the Pink Line will be women and around 30% of its electricity requirements will be met through solar power. Proposed Phase II lines carry an estimated cost of around ₹13,500 crore; a foundation stone should not be confused with the opening of those future corridors.
Travellers should check official Pune Metro announcements for opening times, fares, interchange arrangements and service updates before setting out. The report describes the government’s announcement, not confirmation that the inauguration or public service has already begun.
