Young writers and personal letters will have dedicated platforms at the 42nd Patna Book Fair, according to programme details outlined by organisers on November 2.

At a news conference reported by The Times of India, chairman Ratneshwar said the December edition would be dedicated to folk poet Satyanarayan. Organisers plan more than 350 literary, cultural, educational and youth-focused events.

Shabdankur will provide a stage for emerging poets, storytellers and satirists. Chitthiyan will invite people to read letters that influenced their lives, including ones they never sent. Youth Podium will host conversations about literature, culture and public issues, while Hunar will bring school competitions in activities such as storytelling and mime.

The Centre for Readership Development’s fair runs from December 4 to 15 at Gandhi Maidan. Its official programme page also lists author conversations, poetry, art and film events. A final day-by-day timetable has not yet been released, so visitors should check the organiser’s programme before planning around individual sessions.
