The National Dope Testing Laboratory’s Extramural Research Grant Policy was launched in New Delhi on November 3, with a stated focus on research into advanced detection and prevention in anti-doping science.
Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya introduced the policy at the tenth World Association of Anti-Doping Scientists Quality Assurance Managers’ Meeting. NDTL organised the two-day gathering, which began on November 2 and brought together representatives from sport and laboratory science.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announcement described the policy as an effort to strengthen the scientific basis of anti-doping work. A PTI report also confirmed the launch and the meeting’s dates.
The event included the release of an NDTL newsletter. Mandaviya’s remarks highlighted testing infrastructure, education and international cooperation as priorities alongside research.
The announcement did not provide grant amounts, applicant eligibility or an application deadline. The confirmed development is the policy’s launch; it should not be read as confirmation that a funding application window is open.
