Nagpur’s National Academy of Direct Taxes has brought back Anubhuti, its cultural and literary festival, after a six-year gap. The four-day programme opened on October 28 and drew the academy’s 79th batch of Indian Revenue Service officer trainees into performances, workshops and discussions.

In its November 1 account of the festival, the academy said the programme followed the Navrasa theme, exploring artistic expression through dance, music and literature. Kathak and Manganiyar folk music appeared alongside regional cultural presentations, while workshops covered Warli painting, doodling and mocktail-making.

The programme also included a Nrityarupa presentation featuring Kathakali, Kathak and Chhau. Literary sessions ranged from conversations with authors to poetry in Malayalam, Hindi, Rekhta and English.

The closing programme brought together a debate, a discussion of books by IRS officers and a performance by singer Neeraj Shridhar. The academy’s account describes an event designed around participation as well as staged performances, with trainees moving between creative sessions and regional showcases.
