Lorenzo Musetti beat Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(3), 7-6(10) in the first round of the Rolex Paris Masters on November 2, earning a second-round meeting with top seed Alexander Zverev.

The Italian needed one hour and 43 minutes to complete the win, according to the tournament’s official account. Both sets went to tiebreaks after neither player managed to break serve.

Hurkacz had two chances to take the second set, but Musetti saved them and eventually converted his fourth match point. The second tiebreak finished 12-10 after Musetti had taken the first one 7-3.

Tennis.com’s completed match record shows both players held all 12 service games and finished without a double fault. Hurkacz struck nine aces to Musetti’s five.

Musetti now faces a fresh opponent: Zverev received a first-round bye under the tournament’s draw rules for its top eight seeds.
