The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship presented recognition certificates to 19 institutions selected as Centres of Excellence-Skills at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi on November 2.

Secretary Debashree Mukherjee presented the certificates. According to the ministry’s announcement, the recognition runs from October 9, 2026, to October 8, 2029.

The list includes five renewable-energy institutions and five CIPET centres, alongside specialist institutions serving construction, iron and steel, marine engineering, hospitality and agriculture. IIT Roorkee’s Hydro and Renewable Energy Department, the National Institute of Solar Energy and the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar are among those recognised.

The institutions were selected through an expedited recognition route for established institutions. Their roles can include advanced technical training, mentorship, preparing trainers and assessors, and tracking learners’ outcomes. The framework allows their existing facilities and expertise to support programmes run by governments, industry and other partners.
