Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLC Electric on November 4 at an introductory starting price of ₹78.5 lakh, ex-showroom, according to Autocar Professional’s report from the Pune launch.
The SUV is assembled at the company’s Chakan plant and offered as the GLC 400 4MATIC. Mercedes-Benz’s India model page lists dual-motor all-wheel drive, 360 kW of power and 800 Nm of torque.
The manufacturer claims a 0–100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds and a 10–80% battery charge in about 22 minutes using a 330 kW DC charger. These are manufacturer figures, not results of an independent road test.
Managing director Santosh Iyer told Autocar Professional that bookings had exceeded 1,000, with the order book extending through March 2027. He said the company was seeking additional assembly kits to increase local production.
The cabin includes a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen joining the driver, central and passenger displays. Bookings indicate customer orders; they should not be counted as completed deliveries.
