Marriott International has opened The Ballard, Mumbai, bringing its Tribute Portfolio brand to the city with a 47-room hotel in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate. ETTravelWorld reported the opening announcement on November 2.
Marriott’s property page describes an Edwardian and Neoclassical exterior with Art Deco-inspired interiors. The hotel is at the junction of Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg and Walchand Hirachand Marg, near the General Post Office and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Three dining spaces form part of the property: The Kettle Room café, Goma restaurant and Goma Sky Bar. The café serves tea, coffee and baked items, while Goma focuses on pan-Asian food. The rooftop bar overlooks Mumbai Port and the city skyline, according to the hotel.
The opening adds a boutique property to a district known for its commercial and maritime history. Marriott lists a fitness centre among the facilities. The property’s location and services are company descriptions, rather than an independent review of the guest experience.
