Lloyds Metals and Energy’s board has approved a 360 MW thermal power plant at Konsari, Maharashtra, with estimated capital expenditure of ₹3,240 crore.

The decision was taken on November 3, according to the company’s board-meeting disclosure. The proposed plant would consist of two 180 MW units, primarily supplying the company’s integrated operations at Hedri and Konsari.

Lloyds expects completion by March 2029, subject to the necessary regulatory and statutory approvals. It plans to fund the project through a combination of debt, equity and internal accruals, without specifying the proportions.

The announcement is a board approval for new capacity, not a report that construction or generation has begun. The disclosure does not set out the plant’s fuel-supply arrangements or quantify the electricity-cost savings it may deliver.
