Sixth seed Polina Kudermetova reached the Chennai Open quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 4, beating Oksana Selekhmeteva 6–3, 6–0 in one hour and 19 minutes.

The victory puts Kudermetova into her first tour-level quarterfinal since her run to the Brisbane final in January 2025, according to the WTA’s official match summary. She also extended her head-to-head lead over Selekhmeteva to three wins from three meetings.

Kudermetova converted five of 13 break points and saved six of the seven she faced, Tennis.com’s completed scorecard shows. She won 29 of 34 points behind her first serve, helping her close out the second set without conceding a game.

The Court 1 result follows Kudermetova’s three-set first-round win over Viktoria Morvayova. Selekhmeteva had beaten Teodora Kostovic in her opening match but could not carry that form into the last eight at the WTA 250 tournament.
