India’s Khet Bachaao Abhiyaan for the rabi season is running from 22 October to 30 November 2026, with a stated target of reaching around 50 lakh farmers, according to a Press Information Bureau backgrounder published on 2 November.

The campaign promotes soil health, balanced fertiliser use and sustainable agriculture. The government’s outline lists crop-residue management, crop diversification, natural farming and climate-resilient practices among its priorities.

The published plan envisages work across 34 states and union territories, over 700 districts and 50,000 villages. It also proposes 50,000 field demonstrations and 11,750 structured training sessions, with agricultural extension teams and scientists involved. These figures are campaign targets, not independently verified results.

Farmers seeking local schedules and advice should check with their nearest Krishi Vigyan Kendra or agriculture department. Practical recommendations depend on local soil and crops.
