The University of Kerala has asked departments and teachers to submit fresh applications for its research awards after revising the rules, including applicants who responded to an earlier call.
The notification dated November 3, posted on the university website on November 4, covers the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26. It replaces the February 16 notification for 2024–25.
The awards recognise the best research department, best research project and highest research grant. Eligibility is limited to the university’s teaching departments and teachers working in those departments, with different assessment conditions for each award.
Applications must use the revised prescribed forms, include supporting documents and be forwarded by the relevant head of department. They must reach the Registrar’s office within one month of the notification’s issue date. Late applications and those not forwarded by the department head will not be considered.
A separate additional-recognition category covers achievements including externally funded research, consultancy, international scholarships and patents. This category requires supporting evidence and departmental forwarding but no prescribed application form.
