Karnataka has signed a letter of intent with Finland’s Business Tampere to explore a creative-technology corridor linking the two regions. The agreement, announced on November 3, focuses on building connections across animation, visual effects, gaming and immersive media.

The state’s electronics and IT department said the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society signed the document under its Global Innovation Alliance initiative. Business Tampere is the Finnish region’s economic development agency.

The proposed cooperation includes digital film, augmented and virtual reality, and stronger links between startups, established businesses, universities and research institutions. Karnataka’s K-Tech partner ABAI and its Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics Centre of Excellence will help take the initiative forward.

IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge said the partnership could create opportunities for businesses and talent to connect internationally. The announcement describes an exploratory framework rather than an already operating corridor. It does not specify a funded project pipeline, a launch date for shared facilities or a timetable for exchanges.
