IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Paix Hospitality LLP for a 92-room Holiday Inn Resort in Sasan Gir, Gujarat. The company announced the agreement on November 3, with an opening planned for the first quarter of 2031.

The proposed resort will include 11 suites, five food-and-beverage outlets and four meeting and event spaces totalling 1,366 square metres. A 1,170-square-metre ballroom forms part of that plan, alongside a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and retail facilities.

In its announcement, IHG positioned the development for leisure stays, weddings and social gatherings in Gir Somnath district. Sasan Gir is closely associated with wildlife tourism and the Asiatic lion’s natural habitat.

For travellers, the important distinction is timing: this is a signed development agreement, not a hotel opening or a currently available place to stay. The published first-quarter 2031 date remains a planned opening. IHG said its existing India portfolio comprises 53 operating hotels, with another 110 in its development pipeline.
