Hindustan Zinc launched two alloys for the galvanizing industry on November 3, adding VedAZ and VedAyush to its range of specialised zinc products. The company’s announcement identifies VedAZ as a zinc-aluminium master alloy and VedAyush as a zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy.
VedAZ is intended to help manufacturers control aluminium levels in galvanizing baths. The company says it is designed to support more consistent coating thickness and surface finish. VedAyush is aimed at coated-steel applications, with infrastructure, automotive components, consumer appliances, power transmission and industrial systems among its stated potential uses.
Hindustan Zinc operates an existing 30,000-tonne-a-year alloy melting and casting facility at Rajpura Dariba in Rajasthan through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hindustan Zinc Alloys Private Limited. The launch announcement does not describe that capacity as a new addition.
Khaskhabar’s Jaipur report also covered the introduction of the two grades. They extend a portfolio that already includes the HZDA-3 and HZDA-5 zinc die-casting alloys, used in precision components across several manufacturing industries.
