HCLTech launched an AI-Powered Operations offering for mainframe systems on November 2, adding specialised AI agents and conversational assistants to its enterprise technology services. The company said the tools are designed to assist with administration, system monitoring, optimisation and operational workflows while retaining human oversight.
HCLTech’s Mainframe Centre of Excellence will support the offering with technical expertise and implementation knowledge. The service focuses on how organisations operate existing mainframe environments, including identifying problems and responding to them more quickly.
Express Computer reported that the launch addresses the operational complexity and skills pressures facing businesses that continue to run important workloads on mainframes. Such systems remain in use across sectors including banking and insurance.
HCLTech said its aim is to help clients move from responding to incidents towards anticipating operational issues, while preserving reliability and control. The announcement did not include pricing or measured performance results, so its statements about greater efficiency and faster resolution remain company claims rather than independently tested outcomes.
