The 18th GRIHA Summit opened its main programme in New Delhi on November 3, with new publications, AI-enabled rating tools and an exhibition focused on sustainable construction.
According to TERI's account of the inaugural session, GRIHA Council released the Madhya Pradesh PWD Training Report, the Sky Modelling Report and its annual publication, Shashwat: Let Nature Be. It also introduced tools intended to improve the efficiency of its rating processes.
The November 3–4 meeting at India Habitat Centre is themed around extending lower-carbon approaches from individual buildings to the infrastructure supporting cities. The discussion covers how construction, energy, water and transport systems can be considered together.
The opening also included an agreement between ACETECH and GRIHA Council. TERI did not publish detailed implementation terms in its announcement.
Visitors to the summit's Aarohan exhibition can see sustainable materials and technologies, alongside the SPARSH 2.0 full-scale demonstration. Shortlisted entries in the Indian Streets Reimagined design competition, organised with the Council of Architecture, are also being showcased. These are event presentations, rather than newly mandated building standards.
