Enrission India Capital announced on November 4 that it had invested in Ottonomy, the autonomous delivery-robot company with research, development and manufacturing operations in India.

The Japanese investor said the investment was made through its Enrission SP26 India fund. Its announcement describes the financing as a pre-Series A round but does not disclose the amount of its investment.

Ottonomy is based in Santa Monica, California, and is led by Ritukar Vijay. Its Ottobot machines are designed to move supplies through indoor and outdoor environments. Enrission says the technology combines visual recognition, ultrasonic sensors and computing on the robot, with links to building systems and lift controllers.

The company is focusing on healthcare facilities and plans further international expansion, alongside software for managing multiple robots. Those plans are distinct from confirmed new customer deployments.

The announcement connects Japanese investment with an India-based engineering and manufacturing operation. It does not establish independently measured savings or reliability across hospitals, and the robots’ capabilities remain claims attributed to the investor and company.
