East Bengal lost 2–0 to Oman’s Al Seeb in their AFC Champions League Two Group D match in Kolkata on Tuesday, November 3, after conceding twice late in the game.
Axel Meye opened the scoring in the 85th minute, and Zahir Al Aghbari added the second in stoppage time, the Asian Football Confederation reported.
The teams were level at 0–0 at half-time at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. East Bengal had opportunities before the interval but could not turn them into a lead.
Khel Now’s match report described chances for Bipin Singh and Dani Ramírez in the opening half. Al Seeb applied more pressure after the break before Meye’s late strike changed the score.
Al Aghbari’s finish then secured the away victory, leaving East Bengal without a goal from the home fixture.
