DHL Express has appointed Sandeep Juneja as senior vice-president for South Asia and managing director for India, with the appointment effective from November 1. The company confirmed the leadership change in an update on its official India LinkedIn page.
Juneja succeeds R S Subramanian, who is moving to Blue Dart Express as managing director. DHL’s announcement said Juneja’s responsibilities would include customer partnerships, employee development and growth across India and South Asia.
The Economic Times reported on November 2 that Juneja joined DHL Express in 2004 and has served on its India management board since 2007. He began leading the company’s commercial function in India in 2013, after holding responsibilities across sales and marketing.
His regional remit extends beyond India to Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, according to the report. The appointment places an executive with more than two decades at DHL Express in charge of its Indian operations and wider South Asian business.
