Bengaluru commuters will pay at least ₹10 for ordinary BMTC bus travel from November 5, up from ₹6, following the fare revision announced by Karnataka Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh on Wednesday.

The maximum ordinary BMTC fare will rise from ₹35 to ₹45. The new rates take effect at midnight on November 4, meaning journeys from Thursday fall under the revised structure.

Non-airport Vajra services will also cost more: their minimum fare rises from ₹15 to ₹20, while the maximum increases from ₹75 to ₹90. The revision is part of a wider change covering Karnataka’s four state-run transport corporations.

Suresh said the adjustments were calculated by fare stage rather than as a single percentage applied to every journey. Passengers should therefore check the charge for their particular route and service instead of applying a headline percentage to an old ticket.
