Charlie Coyle scored twice and supplied two assists as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Colorado Avalanche 7–2 at Nationwide Arena on November 3. The four-point performance matched his career best and helped Columbus end a two-game losing streak.
Mathieu Olivier contributed a goal and two assists, while Cole Sillinger and Valeri Nichushkin each finished with a goal and an assist. Twelve Blue Jackets players recorded at least one point in a broad attacking effort.
Columbus led 2–1 after the opening period, then took control with four unanswered second-period goals. Jake Christiansen’s strike began that burst, which expanded the home side’s advantage to 6–1 before Colorado pulled a goal back.
A key moment came before Christiansen scored, when goaltender Cam Talbot stopped a Logan O’Connor breakaway that could have levelled the game. Columbus subsequently maintained its lead and added another goal in the third period.
The result improved the Blue Jackets’ record to 6–7–1 as they debuted new grey uniforms at home.
