Travellers between Bengaluru and Mumbai have a new overnight rail option following the November 1 inauguration of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express. Regular services were scheduled to begin from Mumbai on November 2 and from Bengaluru on November 3, according to reporting by ETInfra. Read the official announcement.

The Ministry of Railways says the train leaves SMVT Bengaluru at 7:45 pm and reaches Mumbai CSMT at 11:55 am the next day. In the opposite direction, it departs at 8:10 pm and reaches Bengaluru at noon the following day.

Services run six days a week: there is no Bengaluru departure on Mondays or Mumbai departure on Tuesdays. The published schedule puts the Bengaluru-to-Mumbai journey at 16 hours and 10 minutes.

The train provides another choice for passengers travelling overnight between the two cities. Travellers should check the railway booking system for their date, boarding station, fare and seat availability before making plans.
