Lucca Comics & Games has confirmed that its next edition will run from October 28 to November 1, 2027, after its 60th-anniversary festival closed in Italy on November 1.
In its closing statement, organiser Lucca Crea reported 345,000 participants over five days, alongside more than 900 guests, 800 exhibitors, over 1,500 programmed events and 14 exhibitions. The participation figure should not be read as a count of unique visitors or compared directly with earlier ticket-sales totals.
The festival also marked a step towards a permanent International Comics Museum. Italy’s culture ministry, the Tuscany regional government and Lucca’s municipality signed an agreement to establish the foundation behind the proposed institution. A museum opening date was not announced in the closing statement.
Meanwhile, the Lucca Legacy exhibition at Palazzo Guinigi will remain open until September 24, 2027. The interactive display traces the festival’s history and lets visitors contribute to its evolving presentation, extending the anniversary programme beyond the annual gathering.
